December 22, 2016, according to the Italian Turin news, BYD recently won the first electric bus in Italy tender project, the project consists of nineteen 12-meter bus and the corresponding service component, the total value of more than 10 million euros (72 million RMB). The fleet will begin service in the summer of 2017 for urban transport in the Piedmont region, covering important cities including Turin and Novara.
The bid also caused more operators in Italy， more and more pure electric bus interest. They believe that pure electric technology will bring unstoppable changes in public transport.
