China Light Bus Sales Grew 4% in July

In July, China sold 33,500 units buses, down by 7% year on year. The sales volume of light buses reached 24,400 units in July, up by 4% year on year.

From January to July, China’s light bus sales volume reached 185,800 units, down by 2% compared with that last year. It is the lowest in the past four years. Compared with the sales volume of light buses in the same period last year, the sales volume this year was over 4,000 units less. Although the light bus sales continued its downward movement, the it has already showed some encouraging signs of recovery this year.

Among the top ten players in the light bus market, King Long and Golden Dragon registered the highest growth rate, reaching 163% and 112% year on year. King Long’s monthly sales also went up to the third place in the industry. In contrast, Dongfeng light bus sales went down by 57% year on year, the sharpest decline in the industry.

Also worth noting is that the combined sales volume of the top ten players in the light bus industry accounted for 90.09% of the total sales volume. The combined sales volume of the top five players took up 58.99% of the total light bus sales in China.
